Retaining Wall Along a Commercial Property Line
A failing property-line wall replaced with a new block retaining wall, drainage and gravel backfill behind a commercial yard.
Overview
The existing wall along the rear property line of a commercial yard had broken down and the grade behind it was washing into the yard. Gazelle removed the old wall and debris, excavated a footing along the fence line and built a new block retaining wall with drainage.
The Challenge
The work ran tight against a chain-link fence and a neighboring lot. The yard stayed in use for deliveries, so excavation spoil and block had to be staged so trucks could still get through.
The Work
Old wall and debris removed; trench excavated along the fence line; concrete block wall laid on a new base; drainage stone placed behind the wall; the yard regraded to the new wall.
Where It Stands
The yard has a straight, sound wall and the slope behind it no longer washes out. Completed June 2024.
